Peter Sullivan (F) has taken responsibility for Parkman's public sector business in the south. He was previously in charge of the consultancy's Transportation South business.

Gibb has amalgamated with structural specialist Maurice Johnson & Associates. Maurice Johnson (F) and his team will now be working as Gibb staff in the Birmingham office.

Evans Grant, consulting engineer in Fareham, Hampshire, has appointed Brian Hillman (M) and John Hawkins as directors.

Andrew Traves has been appointed associate director.

Roger Bailey (M) has been appointed operations director for the Owen Williams Group with particular responsibility for the highways and railways sector. He joins from the Reinforced Earth Company where he was managing director.

Balfour Beatty has appointed Colin Smith (M) as safety, quality and environmental director.

He will be based at the company's Newcastle office.

The board of Parkman Group has appointed Bob Jordan as non-executive chairman of the group.

Steve Martin has joined Amey Rail's maintenance division as commercial and accounts director. He will be based in the Bristol office.

Dave Hawley has been appointed sales director at Banner Plant and Quicklift (UK).

New recruit Phil Burr will replace him as general manager.
