Binnie Black & Veatch has appointed David Nickols (M) as managing director designate.

He will succeed Doug Smith, who is to devote himself full time to the role of president, Europe division, Black & Veatch.

Tony Gee & Partners has appointed Nigel Hewson (F) to associate in their Cobham, Surrey office.

Maccaferri has appointed Philip Staten (M) to managing director at the company's South African arm, African Gabions.
