David Strong has joined renewable energy rm Renewable Energy Systems to set up a new sustainable buildings consultancy.

Strong, formerly managing director of BRE Environment, has been appointed chief executive of the new venture.

Civil Engineer Jim Townend has joined Galliford Try Rail as contracts manager for its rail business in Scotland. He joins from Balfour Beatty.

Graham Howe has taken over as managing director of Kier Eastern. He replaces Neil Meixner, who has been made managing director of Kier Build, Kier Regional's major building projects arm.

Dennis Cotton is joining Kier Eastern as divisional director for Norwich.
