MWH buys Australian environmental firm

Consultant MWH is to buy Australian environmental consultancy Outback Ecology, the firm announced today.

MWH wants to expand the firm’s presence in the resources and energy industries.

“Both MWH and Outback Ecology have similar values and focus on water, sustainability, ecology and the environment to effectively serve our clients and communities,” said MWH’s president of Energy & Industry business Joseph Adams.

“MWH is pleased to welcome Outback Ecology’s 75 employees, including scientists and specialists who will continue to work with clients across the lifecycle of mining and energy projects from evaluation and permitting through reclamation and beyond.”

The takeover is due to be completed in April with Outback Ecology keeping its name initially before changing to MWH.
