Mott MacDonald is to supervise the construction of two sections of the A1 motorway in Poland.
The scheme aims to reduce congestion in the city of Czestochowa by building a 25km motorway. It consists of four junctions, four bridges, nine overpasses and 15 viaducts.
Mott MacDonald’s project director Malgorzata Piatek said: “The newly constructed section of the motorway runs through Natura 2000, a network of nature protection areas in the territory of the EU. Two environmental experts have been employed to fully control and minimise the impact of potential environmental risks.”
The motorway is due for completion in early 2019. The construction is funded by Poland’s General Directorate for National Roads and Motorways and the European Union (EU).
