Mott MacDonald has seconded three railway engineers to provide Chiltern Railways with specialist expertise for its Evergreen 3 project, upgrading the railway between London Marylebone and Banbury and constructing a proposed new railway between Bicester and Oxford.
The experience and knowledge of the Mott MacDonald specialist railway engineers will assist in the successful delivery of this high-profile project.
Chiltern Railways marketing director Thomas Ableman said: “The £250M project is the largest passenger rail infrastructure project not to rely on taxpayer support since before the Second World War.
“It will result in the creation of the ‘Chiltern Mainline’ which will cut journey times along the M40 corridor by 20%, and result in the first new link from a major British city to London for over 100 years.”
Mott MacDonald project director Michael de Voil said: “Mott MacDonald has a wealth of knowledge and experience in the rail sector, having worked on many major projects such as Crossrail and the East London Line, and we are delighted that our specialists are involved in the delivery of this important project.”
