Mott MacDonald investigates school collapse

Consultant Mott MacDonald is carrying out an independent investigation into the collapse of steelwork on a school in Shropshire this week.

Mott MacDonald is carrying out the investigation on behalf of local council Telford & Wrekin, which will run alongside the official investigation being carried out by the Health and Safety Executive.

Five employees from contractor Kier were injured last month when a section of steelwork on the front of the Abraham Darby Academy school building in Shropshire collapsed.

The steelwork appears to have been part of a canopy on the front of the building.
