LAST WEEK'S High Court ruling over Wembley contractor Multiplex's efforts to secure documents issued by consultant Mott MacDonald will trigger further calls for information, sources said this week.
Multiplex is said to be delighted with the summary judgement, which could force Mott MacDonald to hand over additional documents concerning delays in the erection of the iconic Wembley arch.
It is understood that Multiplex is amassing the information in preparation for a court battle with the designer over the arch's buildability. Multiplex took Mott MacDonald to court over a clause in the contract that said Multiplex were allowed to see all reports produced by the designers.
Although the judge ruled that Mott MacDonald had complied and handed over documents, NCE understands that the ruling also allows Multiplex to request further information from the designer. Sources close to Multiplex said that additional requests would be made shortly.
Multiplex is considering taking legal action against Mott MacDonald but is waiting to assess all available information.
Multiplex is understood to have been unhappy with the performance of the arch during the lifting sequence.
