Motorways of the Sea

News

The Department for Transport has asked for bids to build 'Motorways of the Sea' in the North Sea region, to connect Britain with Belgium, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, the Netherlands and Norway.

Bidders have been asked to come up with proposals by 15 October for multi-modal transport services between EU member states that can provide an alternative to the car. Winning proposals will be eligible for £209M of cash for 'sea related infrastructure projects in ports'.
