Motorbikes: an apology

Four leather clad readers rightly wrote to reprimand NCE for forgetting to include motorbikes on its list of transport priorities. John Edwards, for example, delivered a stern rebuke, claiming: Until transport planners, government and engineers accept motorcycles as an important transport mode, certainly more so than cycling or walking, polls such as yours will not be worth the paper they printed on. In our defence, wed only say that with the exception of the readers mentioned, motorbikes were not referred to once in over 300, often highly detailed, replies.
