Motor bikes offer best way in London

Letters

A man from Cadiz (population 145,000) tells me that in London (population 10,000,000) I would be better off without my car (NCE 26 October). How would he know?

Cycling might be an option for all in a seaside town in sunny Spain, but let him try it in London in winter! I did it for 21 years before age and sanity caught up with me.

The only vehicle in the city that provides the flexibility that the car once promised is the powered two wheeler - PTW.

They might upset Government safety plans so they are ignored by planners, even though any Londoner can see that they outnumber bicyclists - and do not ride on the pavements.

Westminster's response is soon to impose a parking tax of £400 a year. So, just when a door appears to be open, they slam it shut in our faces.
