Volvo choice for winter fleet

Cambridgeshire County Council has bought four new Volvo L45F wheeled loaders for its highways department.

The 8.8t vehicles have been deployed at depots in Huntingdon, March, Witchford and Whittlesford, and were bought to replace four, 12-year-old loaders.

They will be used for handling and loading road gritters with rock salt during the winter and for rehandling used, crushed asphalt and other road laying materials.

The L45F is a relatively new, mid-sized wheeled loader with a transverse-mounted 4.8 litre Tier III-compliant engine.
