Toolstation signs RNLI sponsor deal

Tool supply company Toolstation has signed a three-year deal to sponsor the Royal National Lifeboat Institution’s (RNLI) flood rescue team.

The team comprises volunteer lifeboat crew members and operational RNLI staff trained to provide emergency search and rescue services in the event of inland flooding. It is funded entirely by voluntary donations and sponsorship.

Toolstation marketing director Neil Carroll said the firm is enjoying exceptional success across the UK, and is keen to “become involved in something that offered national benefit”.

“Our experience in the South West, where we have sponsored the Western Football League for several years, is that sponsorship is of enormous value to the community,” he added. “The RNLI is a charity which co-ordinates large numbers of volunteers who give their time - and risk their lives - to save others, and this seemed a perfect fit for the our sponsorship policy.”

The agreement includes substantial ongoing financial support plus plans for Toolstation staff involvement.
