Liebherr crane makes UK debut

Edinburgh-based crane hire firm Bernard Hunter has taken delivery of the UK’s first 100t-capacity LTM 1100-4.2 mobile crane from Liebherr.

The LTM 1100-4.2 is a compact four-axle all-terrain crane with all-wheel drive and steer.

It has a 60m telescopic boom, and is one of the strongest four-axle cranes on the market

The 0°, 20° and 40° offset 19m swing-away fly-jib taken by Bernard Hunter produces a maximum under-hook height of 79m. The LTM 1100-4.2 can be road travelled with the 17.2t basic counterweight in place.

Bernard Hunter director Jim Rafferty said the plant hire firm chose this model because of its “build quality and
superb technology”.

“The compactness, agility and excellent main boom duties of this crane are ideal for the large amount of inner city work we undertake, where space restrictions are usual and we need to complete lifting contracts swiftly and with minimum site disruption,” he said.
