Balfour Beatty Eastern Region wins £2.5M contracts

Balfour Beatty Regional Civil Engineering’s Eastern Region, based in Wakefield, has been awarded £2.5M worth of contracts for prestigious customers including Network Rail and National Grid.

The replacement of an overbridge in Sheffield − delivered by Network Rail on behalf of the local authority − will see a 50 hour track possession taking place on Christmas and Boxing Day this year.

Balfour Beatty will also be involved in additional works for Network Rail of underbridge reconstruction at Bessacarr and Tickhill in Doncaster.

The National Grid works includes S278 access into a new Police Headquarters in Hull, and works to two Victorian-era rail tunnels near Sheffield.

Commenting on the awards, regional managing director Phil Morgan said: “We are delighted to be awarded each of these contracts and be working with such prestigious customers.

“This reinforces our presence as one of the regions top engineering firms and we are looking forward to successfully delivering these projects.”
