Morgan Sindall seals school deal

Morgan Sindall has won a £6.1M contract to build a 3,000 sq m primary school in Merseyside, it has emerged.

The new building will be constructed on the existing site of Park Brow primary school in Southdene, Kirkby.

The project is due to be completed by August 2011 and will feature an open-plan auditorium seating area, sports pitches, playing fields and a multi-purpose games area.

Morgan Sindall area director Barry Roberts said: “We are always keen to minimise our carbon footprint as much as we can on all of our construction sites and therefore we will be looking to use local suppliers and subcontractors wherever possible.”

It comes after the construction company won a £7.1M contract to build a primary school in north-west London. The deal involves a two-storey extension at Sudbury primary school in the Wembley area.
