Morgan Sindall revenue up but profit down

Contractor Morgan Sindall reported an increase in revenue from £982M to £1.09bn but profit dropped from £23.1M to £19.5M in the first half of 2011.

The firm reported that market conditions were still “challenging” which impacted on margins, but said they had a “strong performance, in line with expectations”.

Morgan Sindall’s construction and infrastructure secured a number of positions major frameworks and won major contracts in the rail and roads sector.

The firm has a reported order book of £3.5bn and while the market remains challenging the firm hope for growth in the medium term.
