Morgan Est's Jackson is new IHT president

Morgan Est business development manager Chris Jackson will take over this month as the new president of the Institution of Highways and Transportation (IHT), it was announced today.

Jackson has over 35 years’ experience in the construction of transport infrastructure and has been IHT vice president for three years.

Jackson said: “IHT presidents have historically come from local authorities and it is not often they have been provided by a contractor. It is an honour to take on the presidency and represent the whole of the profession.

“What I’m hoping to do is build on the work done by previous presidents and to focus on the ability to work with the British government and the devolved governments in Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland to deliver the transportation needs of the population.”
