More Olympic winners annouced

Olympic bosses yesterday confirmed the 14 specialist contractors for the remediation of the London 2012 park.
They will be managed by main contractors Edmund Nuttall and Galliford Try-owned Morrison Construction, whose appointment was revealed first by NCE in June (NCE 8 June).Procured and jointly funded by the mayor's London Development Agency and the Olympic Delivery Authority, the firms will begin the clean-up of the East London brownfield site once the Compulsory Purchase Order process has completed in July 2007.The successful specialist contractors are:Birse CivilsBrown and MasonCA Blackwell (Contracts)Clifford DevlinDEME Environmental ContractorsEdmund NuttallErith ContractorsGriffiths McGee Demolition CompanyJan de Nul/Envisan/Kier J.VMay GurneyMerryhill EnvirotecScudderWestminster Dredging CompanyWindmill DemolitionThe specialist techniques they will be employing include abestos removal, soil stabilisation, soil washing, groundwater remediation, thermal desorption, complex sorting, bioremediation, ground barriers, dredging, and demolition.Related links:Today's top stories
