Mitie wins £200M nuclear facilities contract

Facilities management (FM) firm Mitie has won a £200M five year contract to provide FM and energy services to nuclear firms based in Cumbria.

Mitie will be providing services to the Cumbrian Collaboration, which includes Sellafield, the Nuclear Decommissioning Authority, Direct Rail Services, Low Level Waste Repository and International Nuclear Services.

The new contract will cover over 500 buildings across a range of sites in the UK, with major activity in Sellafield, Cumbria and Cheshire.

The contract will begin in January, lasting five years with possible extension to a seven year maximum.
