Minister opens £34M road

Transport minister Robert Goodwill is to open a £34M dual carriageway in Northamptonshire on Friday afternoon.

The four-lane Corby Link Road connects the A43 near the village of Stanion to the A6003 near Barford Bridge.

As well as improving the link from the north of the county to the A14, the Interserve-built road will reduce congestion on other local routes.

Northamptonshire County Council leader Jim Harker said: “It’s remarkable that the road is opening right on schedule considering all the weather that we’ve been experiencing in the time it was being built.

“I’d like to thank all the workforce for their terrific effort over the past two years and the harsh weather they’ve battled with to get this open on time.”
