Mine collapse kills student

A student fell to his death when flooding caused a ground collapse above a network of abandoned mine workings beneath a Glasgow cemetery. John Storrie, whose parents live in the cemetery gatehouse, was walking his dog when the accident occurred. His body was recovered by a mine rescue team and later buried in the cemetery, which had been closed by the city council amid fears of further collapses.
