MILLAU MOVE: French prime minister Lionel Jospin has finally given the go ahead for the $290M (FFr2bn) privately financed Millau viaduct in south east France. The 2.5km long eight span cable stay crossing will carry the A75 Paris-Barcelona motorway across the River Tarn gorge on piers up to 235m high.

Construction by the JV concessionaire Eiffage will start soon.
