Midlands wins over Heart Fm

MIDLANDS Association chairman Colin Clinton has secured the support of Heart Fm, the Midland's largest commercial radio station, for a second term.

Under the original deal agreed six months ago, ICE events were advertised free in advance, and Heart Fm attended a number of local functions.

The extension of the deal was confirmed at a meeting between Clinton, Heart Fm's Nigel Ackroyd and Midlands senior vice chairman Ted Hiscocks. It is seen by both parties as confirmation that profile and audience figures have benefited from the unique relationship.

Clinton said that attendance at evening meetings recently was up by 50%, thanks partly to the new, younger ICE image created by the association with Heart Fm.
