Mid Kent, Boxley to Lenham Heath.

This 20km section runs through the country, much of it alongside the M2, and involves extensive earth and bridgeworks. 'To date over 4.8M. m 3of earthworks material has been excavated to form railway embankments, environmental mitigation mounding and agricultual reinstatement, ' says RLE's 420 contract manager Terry Rawnsely. 'We've also placed 39,000m 3of concrete into bridges and other structures. Two old domestic waste landfill sites are being cleaned up with the waste deposited next to the railway in a new, full sealed, disposal site. We are on schedule for completion in February 2002.'
