Mick George starts business park civils job

Mick george

The first phase of a £3.3M civils and infrastructure job by Mick George Ltd has started at the Lancaster Way business park in Ely.

Mick George is principal contractor on the 175 acre site and the works entail new roads, footpaths, draining, a pumping station and a balancing pond. Archaeological backfilling and compound installation has already been completed on site. The client is business park owner Grovemere Property.

“We’re really pleased to have secured this contract. The project has a number of different facets, and it is a testament to how highly our civils service is regarded within the industry. We’ve worked alongside Grovemere previously and have formed a fantastic partnership,’’ said Mick George finance director Jon Stump.

The contract is for six months. The firm has also managed to secure earthworks agreements directly with companies constructing on site.
