Maybe not so fab after all


With reference to the SUDS being considered for the Craigmillar area in Edinburgh ('Turning the Drab into Fab', NCE 14 June), the efficacy of the system relies on 3mm gaps between paving blocks and a 50mm filter layer overlying a stone storage medium.

I would question how long it will take before the gaps and filter layer become clogged with debris, rendering the system useless for drainage/storage ?
