MATT'LL DO NICELY

NEWS

MATT'LL DO NICELY: Fourteen year old NCEinsite reader Matthew Howell got a great birthday surprise last week after winning a digital camera in the magazine's latest prize draw competition.

Matthew is a pupil at Wyvern Technology College in Eastleigh. He was presented with his prize by New Civil Engineer editor Antony Oliver and structural engineer Jackie Heath from local firm Gifford during a visit to the school last week. The prize, a Canon PowerShot camera, was donated by consultant Owen Williams and will be pressed straight into service as Matthew heads off on holiday with his family for half term.

Heath, who is also secretary of the ICE Southern Association, has agreed to forge stronger links with the school in future through regular visits and will hopefully help to form a Young Engineers Club with assistance from the design and technology department.
