Mann alive

Letters

I would like to further acknowledge the work and effort of Mike Mann, who was recently presented with the Spirit of Telford Award by the ICE president Quentin Leiper.

As a legendary regional liaison officer Mike has been a rock to many developing engineers such as myself, available by phone, email or in person where the first item on the agenda is always a cup of tea. On his retirement, he immersed himself in preparing the way for future engineers to come on board the ICE.

Always an effective and unassuming presenter, I never fail to take something positive away from any meeting or discussion that I have with Mike, coupled with some areas I had never ever thought of.

I can't think of a better way in which Mike's achievement can be recognised than by the Institution, an organisation he has served for many years. Well done Mike. Please keep up the excellent work.
