Mali barrage nears completion

Gifford's Rebecca Mulley and Mark Richardson have for the last month been in a remote part of Mali, building a barrage to give a village improved water supply.

Their task, to build a barrage across the Woni River is nearting completion - early.

Once complete, the barrage will give the village of Mafèlè a much more reliable drinking water supply, and so reduce the reliance on wells.
