Major tunnelling contracts awarded for Hong Kong Guangzhou-Shenzhen line

MTR has recently awarded two major tunnelling contracts for the Hong Kong Guangzhou-Shenzhen high speed line.

Leighton Contractors (Asia) has won the HK$3.2bn (£267M) contract for the drill and blast Tse Uk Tsuen to Shek Yam tunnel section, north of Kowloon. CRCC-HC-CR15G has won the HK$1.6bn (£133M) contract for the Huanggan to Mai Po bored tunnels which run under the Shenzen river and beneath environmentally sensitive marshes in the northern New Territories.
