Mains schedule

Transco's programme to remove ductile iron pipe within 30m of buildings (NCE 6 September) relates specifically to medium pressure ductile iron pipe, not to all ductile iron. The programme is due for completion at the end of 2002, not 2001 as stated.

The accelerated programme to which you refer is likely to encompass iron mains, rather than simply ductile mains, and the timing of any such programme is still under discussion - the 40 years versus 20 years scenario you present is not accurate.
