Mace and EC Harris land £72M Qatar programme management contract

Qatar public works authority (PWA) Ashghal has awarded Mace and EC Harris a £72M five year deal to programme manage its vast programme of social infrastructure building projects.

The Mace/EC Harris joint venture will do all programme management activities required for planning, procuring and managing the design, supervision, and construction contracts for a wide range of building projects throughout Qatar, including schools, hospitals, ports tourism facilities, sports centres, parks and assembly facilities. The contract is worth a total of QR415M (£72M), and will last for five years, with the option to extend by a further two years.

The work is will support Qatar’s rapid population and economic growth and the realisation of the Qatar National Vision 2030. Similar contracts have already been awarded to manage the construction and maintenance of highway infrastructure.

Mace and EC Harris will establish and deliver a comprehensive suite of fully integrated and functioning plans, systems, processes and procedures to enable delivery of the programme, and to provide a consistent and best practice approach to managing projects.
