M4i to be 50% funded by industry

Letters

The Department of the Environment, Transport and the Regions has not set a date for the removal of Government funding for the Movement for Innovation (NCE 25 May).

From this year, M4i will be 50% funded by industry. Our alleged failure to win backing from construction companies is probably because until 22 May 2000, we had never asked them for funding.

In your article you incorrectly state the John Wright is an M4i board member.

You also quote someone called Nicholson (Construction Industry Council chairman Robin Nicholson - Ed) as identifying the Regional Development Agencies as a source of funding. We have no intention of seeking such funding.

Alan Crane, Chairman, Movement for Innovation c/o Christiani & Nielsen, Orion House, Athena Drive, Tachbrook Park, Leamington Spa, Warwickshire CV34 6RQ
