Low cost logger launch

Smaller construction sites can now benefit from more effective monitoring, according to Itmsoil following the launch of a new vibrating wire data logger which it claims combines low cost with high technology.

Itmsoil CEO Mark Kirkbride has said that the new VWlog8 is a unique piece of equipment that fills a gap in the market. He said that the company’s existing Campbell-based systems are ideal for the biggest construction projects but are expensive when only a small quantity of sensors are needed. He added that the new logger will be perfect for the unattended monitoring of smaller projects.

The logger can transmit data via GSM/GPRS or store it on an SD card. It reads vibrating wire sensors using Fast Fourier Transformation (FFT) and enables a fully configurable data logging schedule for each individual channel and the settings, and firmware, can all be configured over GSM/GPRS. The 250 by 100 by 40mm unit is available for pre-order now.
