Lorries banned from overtaking on the A1(M) County Durham

The Highways Agency is to trial an overtaking ban for lorries on two 2km sections of the A1(M) in County Durham to help improve traffic flows.
A similar ban on two sections of the A14 in Northamptonshire was announced last week. The latest trails follow a successful dry run on the A40 last year. The Agency is ramping up its use of congestion busting measures from April it is to be assessed on its ability to cut delays on the worst 10% of journeys.
