Long reach nibbler

An 11 storey office block in Paris has been demolished using a superlong Liebherr R984HD Litronic excavator with a reach of 32m. An extra 7t of counterweight had to be added to the R984, bringing its total weight operating weight up to 103t. Mounted on its extended boom was a LaBounty UP 20 concrete nibbler and water jets to damp down dust during demolition operations. There was also a CCTV camera, which allowed the machine operator to monitor the nibbler in action.

For even greater heights Liebherr now offers the 107t R974B Litronic, which has a maximum working height of 35m.
