Eloy Mazon from WS Atkins was named Young Consulting Engineer of the Year by the Association of Consulting Engineers this week. Mazon, originally from Spain, is a 15th generation civil engineer. His award included a certificate, medal and cash prize. Candidates for the awards had to prepare a report on their experience, including their views on civil engineering consulting. Judges said they were particularly impressed by Mazon's report Consulting engineering in the design and build industry. The report drew on his experience in the railway industry, including work on the West Coast Main Line.
