News analysis

Over 300 speed cameras in London have now been coated with yellow retroreflective panels, bringing the capital in line with Department for Transport guidelines.

A review by the London Safety Camera Partnership, which includes the Metropolitan Police and Transport for London, has also identified cameras to be moved to improve their visibility to drivers.

The work will be completed over the next six months, with the first cameras (on the north circular) repositioned this week.

London's roads account for 18% of all UK road deaths and serious injuries. The LSCP has committed to driving down the number of casualties by 1,125 over the next five years.
