London projects due for 2010

The £8bn privately financed Tube upgrade Thameslink 2000 A privately financed CrossRail, adding 15% to London's underground rail capacity Road crossing of the Thames at Blackwall and Thamesmead Extension of the East London Line into north and south London Rail crossing of the Thames at Woolwich Introduction of £5 per car per day congestion charging scheme by 2004/5 The Government's 10 year plan also assumes that just under half of the £33.1bn investment in London's transport infrastructure will be private finance.

The two major heavy rail schemes - CrossRail and the East London line extension - depend heavily on the outcome of the Rail Regulator's review of Railtrack's operating regime and its track access charges.
