London gateway port gets qualified go-ahead

The London Gateway port project on the north shore of the Thames Estuary east of the capital is to go ahead, Dubai-based developer DP World announced last week.

DP World has decided to proceed with the delayed £1.5bn project’s “essential infrastructure” following a review of the project. But while DP World said construction work would begin, it added that development work would be kept under review raising doubts about the eventual scope of the project.
