Clearly, Philip Morley and I agree that engineers deserve better incomes, but I fear his logic will never provide them.

Does he not realise that director's high incomes will increasingly depend on design work being subcontracted abroad to areas where staff are paid much lower salaries than in the UK?

Not only will this suppress salaries in the UK, but it will restrict practical experience.
