Liebherr adds power boom to crawler crane

Liebherr is boosting lifting capacity on its large crawler cranes with the innovative “power boom” design.

At the lower part of the crane, lattice sections are assembled parallel to each other, while at the top the double boom has been joined together to form a single boom.

According to Liebherr the power boom not only improves stability in the direction of the load, but also to the side, which results in enormous increases in lifting capacity with long boom systems.

Power boom option

The power boom can be offered as an option on new cranes or retrofitted to cranes that have already been delivered, so customers only have to invest in a power boom when they have a job that requires the extra lifting capacity.

The power boom was first designed for the 3,000t LR 13000 crawler crane, but Liebherr has now developed a version for the LR 11350 and LR 11350 models.
