Liberal Democrats claims M6 has become congested


The Liberal Democrats claimed this week that the M6 has become even more congested since the parallel M6 toll north of Birmingham opened in December 2003.

Their figures show weekday traffic immediately south of the toll averaged 124,700 vehicles per day in November 2004 against 115,348 in November 2003. Traffic north of the toll road rose to 121,183 from 116,578.
