Lend Lease secures £170M construction project in London

Lend Lease has secured a £170M construction contract with Land Securities for two new buildings, The Zig Zag Building and Kings Gate on the site of the former Kingsgate House, in central London.

Lend Lease’s project management and construction business will carry out the construction, involving demolition of the existing office block and replacing it with two buildings. The first building, The Zig Zag Building, is a 12 storey commercial and retail block, and the second, Kings Gate, is a 14 storey residential building for up to 100 high end apartments. Completion of the project is expected in 2015.

Lend Lease Group Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director, Steve McCann, said the contract award continues the momentum of the construction business in Europe. It follows recent contract wins including the Treviso PFI hospital in Italy, the University of Strathclyde’s £89M Technology & Innovation Centre in Glasgow City centre and the £70M Cramlington hospital in Northumbria.
