Lectures aimed at construction minorities

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY Council Equal Opportunities Task Force is launching a series of lectures but equal opportunities are not in the programme agenda.

Aimed at construction industry minorities and costing £50, the five- lecture series covers topics aimed at gaining personal development skills and learning about management issues. There will also be a chance to network before and after the meeting.

'The subject is about selected management issues in construction, not equal opportunities, and we are targeting anyone in the construction profession, though networking opportunities will be provided for professionals in minorities,' said ICE task force representative Helen Stone.

The year old task force is primarily made up of women and elderly people. It is hoped the lecture series will attract more disabled and ethnic minorities.

The meetings, starting on 9 February, will run from 5.30pm to 8.30pm. Refreshments will be provided before and after lectures. For more information call Shirely Watson (01908) 691888.
