Vinci subsidiary makes Canadian acquisition

handshake 2by3

Vinci subsidiary Eurovia has bought Canadian contractor Rail Cantech.

Quebec-headquartered Rail Cantech provides engineering, construction and maintenance services for national transport systems.

Founded in 1989, the firm generated revenue of about C$30M (£15M) in 2015 and has about 200 members of staff.

Vinci said in a statement: “This acquisition adds to Eurovia’s range of services in Canada and increases its industrial capacity in a country where rail activity is growing rapidly. Rail Cantech will join ETF, the Eurovia subsidiary specialising in rail works.”

Eurovia generated Canadian revenue in excess of C$700M in 2014.

Meanwhile, Eurovia subsidiary Ringway has been named as preferred bidder for a £76M roads deal in the UK.

Ringway picked up the five-year Wiltshire and Swindon highway services contract, which has an option for a two-year extension.
