Newly released timelapse footage shows tunnelling works on the Crenshaw/LAX light rail project in Los Angeles, US.
The video from the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority shows the progress of tunnel boring machine (TBM) Harriet, which began tunnelling under Crenshaw Boulevard in late April.
The footage documents the TBM’s first 121m of excavation over the course of a month.
The 13.6km Crenshaw/LAX line will include eight stations, serving the Crenshaw District, Inglewood, Westchester and surrounding areas.
Construction on the US$2bn (£1.4bn) project is expected to be complete in 2019.
