The Olympics and One Great George Street access

The ICE, like many other organisations in central London, will be impacted by the Olympic and Paralympic Games and this will affect access to One Great George Street (OGGS).

OGGS is also being used as a media centre for the Games with all rooms booked from now until 15 September.

Thousands of journalists are already passing through the building - a great opportunity to promote the venue and generate income that contributes to the cost of running ICE’s services. This means however that the building is extremely busy and strict security procedures are in place.

The ICE asks that members avoid visiting OGGS until 15 September.

If you wish to see a member of ICE staff, this will need to be by appointment only. If you do need to visit OGGS, please bring your membership card with you. This will be checked at reception and you will then proceed to the security area.

If you do not have a membership card, your membership can be validated at reception. Bringing some form of photo ID will help speed up this process.

Please do not return any library books during the Games period - books will be marked with a return date after these periods. The ICE will supply as many electronic books as possible and to post library books to members. However, the post service may be unpredictable.

The ICE Bookshop will be closed until 15 September. However, online orders will continue to be processed as normal.
