Tarmac buys new sites as Breedon expands

Tarmac readymix

Tarmac has completed the purchase of 11 readymix concrete sites from Breedon Aggregates, clearing the way for Breedon to complete its £336M acquisition of Hope Construction Materials.

Last week the acquisition was given the go-ahead after clearance from the Competition and Markets Authority. The Authority said it accepted Breedon’s plans to sell some of its ready-mix concrete sites after concerns were raised about several sites where it was feared customers might face higher prices as a result of the merger in the local area.

Site locations acquired by Tarmac are Inverness, Cloddach in Scotland, Lincoln, Bostonand Spalding all in Lincolnshire, Wisbech in Cambridgeshire, two around Telford and one in Shrewsbury in Shropshire, Coleford in Gloucestershire and Leinthall in Herefordshire.
